Dear Readers
With the publication of this second instalment, the summer issue is now complete . It contains a generous selection of poetry translated from Hungarian which has been curated by Zsuzsanna Ozsvάth and Frederick Turner, to whom I am very grateful. The High Window’s Resident Artist, S.A. Leavesley, has contributed an essay on the significance of trees in her work as an artist and the new featured poet is Alice Allen. There is also the usual bumper crop of reviews. Henceforth, reviews will continue to be published as soon as is practical after they arrive, but will then, as here, be gathered up into the next full issue.
There are also four new poems in the Editor’s spot, which have been taken from my collection A Murmuration (Two Rivers Press 2015). I would draw your attention also to the three new books published by The High Window Press this quarter. Full details will be found on the Press page..
Finally, as I have received enough poetry for the next two issues, there will be a temporary suspension of poetry submissions over the summer. When the autumn issue has been published in September, new work will then be considered for the spring 2020 issue.
Happy reading
David
